Duration of the Bachelor’s Program

Full time and part time – 1 year, correspondence program– 1 years and 2 months.

Requirements: applicants to the master’s program must have a bachelor’s degree in economics or to have a degree of specialist in economics.

Training of specialists in statistics on respective modified teaching programs with active methods of teaching (lectures, work in small groups, seminars-discussions, cases, didactic games) provides young specialists with a chance to find employment in different spheres in the bodies of state regulation, research institutes, higher educational establishments, financial and crediting organizations and in business organizations as analysts, experts, managers, advisors.

The experts in economic cybernetics, applied statistics and intellectual systems of decision making process are trained in the bachelor’s and master’s programs. The Faculty offers the following master’s programs: Information Systems in Management, Data Management, Information Systems in Banks and Financial Organizations, Systems Analysis and Modeling of Economic Processes, Applied Statistics.

Master of Economic Cybernetics is a specialist prepared in the system of training and up-grading the staff for technical, manufacturing, organizational, managerial, planning, project and research activity at enterprises and commercial organizations.

Masters of applied statistics must be able to perform organizational, methodological, analytical, controlling, planning, managerial, scientific and educational functions. They must be able to analytically support managerial decisions on macro- and microlevels.

The Faculty maintains relations with the educational establishments of Switzerland, the USA, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, and Russia. Our students extend their knowledge abroad in the universities of Germany. The Faculty has great traditions. The history of training specialists in this field started in 1958, when the first students were admitted to the Faculty and began their studies at the part-time program.

The founders of the scientific basis of the Faculty in the field of information technologies were professors, doctors of economic sciences: M.Tverdohlib, S.Kutsenko, O.Sharapov, L.Terehov, V.Sytnyk.

During many years of creative and fruitful work a powerful school of statistics was founded. Its well-known representatives are such prominent scientists-statisticians as K.Voblyy, Y.Korchak-Chepurkivskyy, Y.Pashaver, M.Ptuha, P.Pustohod, O.Rusov, E.Slutskiy. These scientists were the first to change their attitude to statistics, they were well-known not only in Ukraine, but also abroad, as they made a great contribution in the development of statistical methodology and made the Department of Statistics the main center of scientific and educational work.

As result, the Faculty founded a scientific school, representatives of which are known both in Ukraine and abroad. We would like to stress the fact, that they are the former graduates of the Faculty: S.Pyrozhkov, doctor of economic sciences, academician of the National Academy of Sciences; E.Libanova, V.Trofimov, the corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences; V.Golovko, K.Shyshkina, N.Vlasenko, candidates of economic sciences, deputies of the Head of the State Commission of Statistics of Ukraine. O.Osaulenko, the acting head of the State Commission of Statistics in Ukraine, honoured economist of Ukraine, doctor, professor, graduated from the Faculty of Information Systems and Technologies.

Our graduates V.Trofimov and I.Mantsurov used to work in the specialized agencies of the United Nations Organization, S.Gerasymebnko, N.Ivashchenko, E.Chekotovskyy taught in foreign universities for a long time

6 doctors of sciences, 8 professors, and 48 candidates of sciences provide offer instruction and perform research. 

Such scientific potential of the Faculty makes it possible to ensure high-quality training of specialists of applied disciplines of economic and managerial cycles, masters of economic cybernetics and applied statistics, who can take responsible posts in business organizations both in Ukraine and abroad.
